Walking
If you love walking with breathtaking coastal views then you're in for a real treat when you come to Lulworth Cove and surrounding Jurassic Coast Bays and Coves. We have walking guide books in your guest room so you can decide which way you'd like to walk, and how long!
Walking west towards and past Durdle Door is never restricted, but walking East along the South West Coast Path is sometimes restricted because it passes through the Military of Defence firing ranges, called the Lulworth Ranges. Here are all the dates you need to plan your walking in this direction:

The Lulworth Range Walks and Tyneham Village are open to the public every weekend with the exception of the following:

The exhibitions in Tyneham School and Tyneham Church are open from 10amuntil 4pm on the dates above.
The gates to the walks are open at 9am on Saturday and remain open until 8am on Monday morning when only open at the weekends. The gate to Tyneham is locked each night at dusk.

Walkers Welcome at Bindon Bottom!
We do like things to look nice, but we also like to offer lots of practical perks for walkers and lovers of the outdoors. We have boot scapers at the front step, the entrance porch is a tiled floor, with a radiator to dry boots & coats, umbrellas and a seated window sill to sit and tie your shoes laces!
South West Coastal Path
The Purbeck section of the South West Coast Path, starts at Shell Bay, Studland and heads west along the coast to White Nothe.
This walking route provides fantastic access to the Jurassic Coast on recognised, safe routes passing places of interest such as Old Harry Rocks, Ballard Down, Dancing Ledge, St Aldhelm's Head, Kimmeridge Bay, Worbarrow Bay, Lulworth Cove, St Oswald's Bay and Durdle Door. Most of the routes are based on the closest, flattest and most traffic-free trails around Wareham but there are an abundance of other areas to discover especially if you put your bikes on the train and use the local rail service from Wareham for the start or finish of your cycle adventure. For instance, you can cycle to Blue Pool, Kimmeridge, Lulworth, Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, Lawrence of Arabia's grave and Tolpuddle armed with only a bike, a map (available from Purbeck Cycle Hire), and a little energy and adventurous ambition.
